I disagree with the idea of parents being able to request words being crossed out of a library book and here are a few reasons why
When someone checks out a book from the library they know it has been approved by the librarian. The librarian reads the books before she puts them out for people to read, which means that she/he thinks that it is appropriate for the age group to read. If it wasn't appropriate they wouldn't put it out. Also a lot of the books in the library have been requested by other students because they enjoyed them so much. And again the librarian checks them to see if they are appropriate. So if parents think that the book is inappropriate then they should tell there kids not to read it, but not get the words crossed out because it ruins the book for other kids.
